United Therapeutics Corporation (UTC) is a biotechnology firm that focuses on the research and development of treatments for chronic and life-threating conditions. MHG has had the privilege of supporting UTC in the evolution of their corporate headquarters in the heart of downtown Silver Spring, with construction beginning in 2007.

Beginning with the construction of the manufacturing building the campus quickly grew with the addition of an office-research facility across Spring Street, followed by the Lung Biotechnology facility in 2014. The campus is further expanding with  two additional projects that started in 2015. The Unisphere building immediately adjacent to the headquarters is designed to meet a net zero energy goal;  the first of its kind in Montgomery County. The second project is the DDOMAL building which is intended for the production and manufacturing of UTC products. Construction of these projects will be completed in 2019.

Throughout the development of each building on the corporate campus MHG has assisted with a variety of planning, design and construction services. These services included feasibility investigations, topographic surveys, natural resource inventories, site development plans, landscape and green roof design plans, stormwater design plans, utility plans, construction stake outs, and LEED evaluation and coordination.
